In his SmackDown commentary debut, legendary Superstar Mick Foley welcomed Batista to the ring to talk about The Animal’s loss to Shawn Michaels at Backlash. After reviewing Chris Jericho’s recent Highlight Reel – where Y2J accused HBK of faking his injury at Backlash. Batista issued a strong warning to HBK: “Shawn, for your sake, I hope you are actually hurt. Because if you’re not, when I see you, you will be.”

The Animal was still healing from his wounds come SmackDown and stayed out of action this week. He did send a message to Shawn Michaels though, and we hope that Michaels gets it for his own good.

They focused on the HBK vs. Batista feud coming out of WrestleMania. Their match is next.

Shawn Michaels vs. Batista

Jericho comes out in full referee gear, black pants and all. Having just finishing his book last week, I know that he is throughly enjoying this. Jericho has the ear piece in and everything.

Batista comes out to his pyro exploding. He gets a pretty big cheer from the crowd. Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross (who sounds stopped up) talk about the match that we are about to see.

Shawn Michaels' music starts and he comes out to a pop from the fans as well. HBK has his normal cut up t-shirt on and cowboy hat along with his normal ring gear. Michaels says his prayer and the pyros explode as he makes his way down the ramp.

 -Batista thanked Vickie Guerrero in her office for the shot at the title, but he said he knows what she’s up to.

5- BATISTA vs. UNDERTAKER- NO DQ MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

The two men took turns shoulderblocking the other down. Batista speared Undertaker, but fell down on Taker, who tried to apply his submission hold, but Batista rolled out of the ring.

Batista was thrown shoulder-first into the ring steps upon return. Taker went for Old School, but Batista was having none of that. A few seconds later, Taker tried it again, and hit it. Taker grabbed Batista for a chokeslam, but Batista fended it off. Powerslam by Batista for two. Spear by Batista for two. Batista punched away at Taker, but Taker came away from the corner and powerbombed him. Only two, again. Taker brought the steps into the ring and had Batista up for a Tombstone on it. But Batista got out and hit the spinebuster on Taker on the stairs. Ouch. He then tried to hit the Batista Bomb onto the stairs, but HBK came out of nowhere and hit Sweet Chin Music on Batista. Tombstone by Taker and it’s over.

WINNER: Undertaker, at 13:26.

The Animal drops a spot this week after getting introduced to the band. The Animal missed his chance to regain the World Heavyweight Championship and that could be attributed to his war of words with HBK.

GM Vickie Guerrero has set a blockbuster main event for tonight: Undertaker vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship, with the winner to defend the gold against Edge at Backlash.

As the WWE Superstars return home to the U.S. after a successful U.K. invasion, they will all be making final preparations on SmackDown for the massive pay-per-view encounter at Backlash just 48 hours later.

Last week on SmackDown, the battle between World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker and Batista ended in a double count-out. This Friday, The Phenom will face The Animal in a rematch. However, there will be more at stake this time, thanks to SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero. The title will be on the line and the winner will defend the gold against Edge at Backlash.

As all of the SmackDown Superstars get ready for full scale warfare at Backlash this Sunday, witness the final preparations this Friday Night on SmackDown at 8/7 CT on The CW Network.
