Is WWE A Better Place Without Batista?

Batista began his career in the WWE as D-Von’s sidekick—back when he was a reverend (I know, WWE was crap back then too!).

He didn’t really do much at that time besides help Dudley win a few matches. Then, over on RAW, they decided to gang a bunch of wrestlers together and realized all that was left was to add a big guy into the stable Batista.

So he found himself with a new job (one where people actually vaguely remembered his name after the show ended). During this time he screwed Stone Cold, won the tag titles with the Nature Boy and broke Goldberg’s leg, earning himself a nice $100,000 in the process (not bad for one night’s work).

All this happened, but people still saw Batista as practically a brick wall—run into it and you’ll have a few nasty bruises, but try to speak to it and you won’t get much of a conversation (I say this when probably that was the character he was supposed to be playing).

But all of this changed when teammate Randy Orton won the big one. You see, when this happened you just knew that Evolution was screwed and, guess what, about three months later Batista had won the Royal Rumble (even though it was clear that his feet had hit the floor before Cena’s).

Around this time Batista became worth watching. You were never going to get a five-star match out of him, but you’d probably see the other guy get pummeled, which was always pretty amusing.

At Wrestlemania 21, Batista beat his former mentor, HHH, in a pretty decent match, and held onto the title until he injured himself, meaning that he wouldn’t be headlining the next Mania.

However, as predicted, Batista came back and won the title again, and finally Batista put on good matches, and it wasn’t because of the opposition, as it had been before, but because now Batista had finally learnt how to wrestle slightly.

His improvements carried on until Wrestlemania 23 where, he put probably the second best match of the year (number 1 being HBK vs. Cena on RAW) against Taker.

But since then Batista’s improvements have stalled dramatically, and he has now reverted back to the wrestler he was when he was backing up D-Von.

Matches now consist of Batista getting slightly hurt (you wouldn’t think so, though, being as Batista couldn’t sell a punch to a 3-year-old) and then trying to recreate an Ultimate Warrior-type hype up before spearing the other guy and hitting a powerbomb (a move that was botched most of the time).

Plus, he couldn’t cut a promo to save his life. I can’t remember a time when Batista’s promo didn’t include the line “[insert name], get down here now so I can kick your ass.”

Even WWE seemed to be realising that Batista was on a downward spiral when they stuck him in a match with Umaga at WM 24 rather than in the main event. Now this was when I really began to dislike Batista as a wrestler.

In a match where Umaga gave it everything he could, Umaga had a right to be a little pissed at the way he was being treated by WWE and yet still for the fans a 400-pound man did everything he could to put on a good solid match for 10 minutes.

who does this guy think he is bashing dave like that? probably doesnt even know the meaning of the word wrestling!
i hate it when people bring other people down! has he even stepped into a wrestling ring before?!
He doesn’t even know what it feels like to be a wwe wrestler! so he should stop thinking he knows it all in the business!
sorry to vent like this, but i think no wrestler should be bashed for their downfalls! they all should be respected because they are all there for us! they put there bodies on the line for entertainment!

OMG!!!!This is so wrong. It does not matter if you like him or not. Don’t kick the ANIMAL while he is down. WWE is NOT better off without him.

What a dumbass, that guys incorrect with half of everything he said. Batista can cut promos better then atleast half the roster in WWE, and the reasoning for him facing Umaga wt wm24 was because he wanted a break from WWE at the time but he didn’t get it because of how many superstars were out at the time. So they didn’t know what to do with him at the time so they just had him face Umaga, with Batista’s wrestling skills? Well how much does actual technical wrestling matter in WWE anyway? Fucking nerd. Batista does have the ability to wrestle but he has more of a powerhouse style.

The person who wrote this is a dickhead. If batista is not a main event guy then why did WWE have him face Cena at the main event of SS08, also had him for the WM25 main event and Batista was also suppose 2 win the RR09. whoever u r jus FUCK OFF and stop hatin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant believe this guy slamming Batista.
I dont care what anyone has to say about him I love him and his wrestling skills and always will.
When you are as big of fan as I am you just learn to ignore rude comments like this guy.
I am just in deep hurt because he was injured by Randy Orton and he could not make his appearance to Monday Night Raw in Toronto Ontario. I paid almost a thousand dollars for a night of wrestling and a hotel cause im from out of town and just to have a great time with my best friend. Please dont get me wrong i had the best time ever, i love wrestling and have since i was a little girl but it hurt me sooo much when they said Batista was not going to be there.
All I know is that i see very big things in the future for Batista and cant wait for the best comeback ever, i just hope that the day they can come back to Toronto that i can afford good seats like i had that night, lol!!

It takes such a big man to bash a man while he’s out recovering from his surgery. I adore Batista and Raw isn’t the same without him. I will happily count down the days until he comes back and this guy can go and pout that he will never be the man that Batista is.

Batista is a great wrestler worth watching 24/7 I don’t know where this freak comes from but he sucks. He should appologize to Dave. Batista is not going down hill…i think he gets better and better with every match he does. You win some you loose some matches but I know every time Dave gets in that ring he gives his fans all he’s got. Whose this guy to say these things. You all are right he is jealous. Jealous that Dave has all these ladies crazy about him and his sexy body.

Batista will come back stronger then ever and he will show the world his passion for wrestling again. Until then I hope he comes back soon (once he is better of course) because I have decided Batista is good for my immune system. I usually watch wrestling after coming home from a stressful job of loan processing at a bank and for the past month I have been putting in a lot of overtime. When I watch Batista all my stress is relieved but since he has been gone my immune system has been terrible…i have been attacked by walking phnemonia. He kept my blood pumping now I don’t have a stress outlet so this is going to be a long winter I am sure without my man in the ring. So please Batista get well soon and come back soon. I love you baby!!!

man i hate people who think they can judge dave batista because he down right now if you like batista then why are you watching him. dave got tone of fans that love to watch him and support him in and out of that ring batista is the world heavy weight champion four times in three years no fluke he that great. when he ready he will be back this year and randy orton will pay for that kick to batista head just like mark henry did three years go when he took out batista. the wwe is not better off with out batista they need batista what they dont need is all the jericho and orton fans thinking there the best around im so gald jericho got fired i hope he stay that way and i cant wait for the animal to come back and take what his the title back. i love and miss the animal and cant wait until he comes back to all his fans

I truely believe that Batista is truely an animal and i would be really sad if he doesnt return. Dave is truely one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. WWE would not be the wsame without him, and the show is severely lacking without his mere presence. So Dave needs to heal up and get back to the show, and bring back his spark of life to it. This man is truely the “ANIMAL”.

I can’t believe this crap… did you not EVER see batista when he was in the Ohio Valley Wrestling? He was good then and he’s great now. I am married to an ex wrestler and I know that all of this is for show, but he’s damn good at what he does, and I’ll always be a fan.
